The Drop Down 

During phase 1 of the construction process, half of Deseret Hospital will be closed down for demolition and reconstruction. The other half will remain open and will offer all hospital services, so we can remain 100% operational.

 

The closed half of the hospital will be demolished and used as partial filling material so that the newly constructed hospital will sit on higher ground—safe from the flood waters. Then, that half will be rebuilt. The length of time required to complete phase 1 depends completely on the availability of funds.
